| NEWSLETTER CORRECTION: GREEN COOK ROAD CLOSURE February 28, 2010 Green Cook Road is not yet open as was reported in the 2010 township newsletter. Due to adverse weather conditions, construction was stalled during the final stages of the bridge replacement. Updates on the progress and anticipated completion date will be posted as this information becomes available. |

| NATIVE AMERICAN PRESENTATION TO BE HELD March 1, 2010 Please join other community members for a Native American presentation to be given on Saturday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the firehouse community room. Vicki Tieche will be giving an historical background on the Native Americans who have lived in Harlem Township over the last 10,000 years.This presentation is part of the Bicentennial Committee fundraising efforts for the event to be held August 21-22, 2010. Donations will be accepted. Also available at this event and all fundraising events will be 12 separate booklets offered for sale to the public for $3.00 per publication. Publications include: "Native Americans and Harlem Township," "Glimpses of Harlem Township in Native American Days," "Original Land Grants (Harlem Township)," "The First Ladies of Harlem Township," "The 200 Year Families," "Harlem Township in the Civil War," "Revolutionary War Veterans Buried in Harlem Township," "Harlem Township’s Role in the War of 1812," "Harlem Township and the War With Mexico," "Invasive Plants," "Trees and Big Trees," and "Children in the Wilderness." |
