Delaware County

• U.S. 36/SR 37 “Point” Expansion
  • Description: Widen U.S. 36/Route 37 under the railroad bridge on the east side of Delaware. Reconstruct the Norfolk-Southern railroad bridge over the roadway. Improve U.S. 36/Route 37 intersection at Route 521.
  • Estimated Start: March 2023
  • Estimated End: September 2025
  • Project Cost: $31 million
  • Traffic Impacts: Temporary lane closures with turn restrictions
• U.S. 36 Improvements at I-71
  • Description: Replace U.S. 36 bridge over I-71 and resurface U.S. 36 from east of Fourwinds Drive to east of Wilson Road.
  • Estimated Start: June 2023
  • Estimated End: October 2024
  • Project Cost: $5.9 million
  • Traffic Impacts: Two lanes of westbound traffic and one lane of eastbound traffic maintained on US 36/Route 37. Access to I-71 on-ramps maintained.
• U.S. 36/Route 37 and Galena Road Intersection Improvements
  • Description: Install turn lanes on U.S. 36/Route 37 and Galena Road, upgrade traffic signal, and add lighting.
  • Estimated Start: June 2023
  • Estimated End: October 2024
  • Project Cost: $2.8 million
  • Traffic Impacts: 100-day closure of North and South Galena Road with detour.
• U.S. 23 Culvert Replacement
  • Description: Replace culvert on U.S. 23 over Oberlander Run.
  • Estimated Start: June 2024
  • Estimated End: July 2024
  • Cost: $2.7 million
  • Traffic Impacts: Temporary lane and shoulder closures. Includes a 14-day restriction of U.S. 23 to one lane in each direction.
• State Route 605/Fancher Road Intersections Safety Improvements
  • Description: Construct a roundabout at the intersection of Route 605 and Fancher Rd.
  • Estimated Start: April 2024
  • Estimated End: September 2024
  • Project Cost: $2 million
  • Traffic Impacts: 40-day closure of Route 605 and Fancher Road with detour, temporary lane closures.
• Union and Delaware County Bridge Preservation
  • Description: Replace and raise the Beecher Gamble Road bridge over U.S. 33. Pedestrian crossing improvements along Route 750 in Ashley.
  • Start Date: January 2024
  • Completion Date: October 2024
  • Project Cost: $2.3 million
  • Traffic Impacts: Beecher Gamble Road will remain closed for the duration of construction.
• State Route 257 Bridge Rehabilitation
  • Description: Rehabilitate the bridge on Route 257 over the pedestrian tunnel at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
  • Estimated Begin: September 2024
  • Estimated End: November 2024
  • Project Cost: $200,000
  • Traffic Impacts: Closure of Route 257 southbound with detour, temporary lane closures.
